"These LEDGrowLightTM bulbs have allowed us to get into a lighting system without the expense of purchasing HID fixtures and then having to pay an arm-and-a-leg to operate them as well.

There are 44 ten-watt red bulbs suspended four feet over the six by sixty-six foot bench. The LED bulbs are spaced three feet apart in two rows. The bulbs are simply strung together on 14-gauge UV resistant cable (14-2 w/ground). The waterproof sockets were purchased at Menards.

The results so far look great. Perennial cuttings broke dormancy and Mediterranean herbs look right at home. After the rooting season Rush Creek Growers intends to use the space to light native grasses and forbs to ready them for sale."

Rush Creek Growers is a wholesale bedding plant grower located in Spring Valley, Wisconsin. In the fall of 2007, they installed red LED bulbs to extend the day length and supplement the low winter light levels on rooted cuttings in their greenhouse.

……We are a wholesale bedding plant grower, here in Idaho, that has installed Grow With LED bulbs to extend the day length and supplement the low winter light levels on our root cuttings.

They are very simply strung together on 14 gauge UV resistant cable (14-2 w/ground). We have 66 bulbs that we suspended, also 4' over our bench. The bulbs are spaced 3' apart in two rows over the bench. We hung up some pipes to tie a cable to achieve uniform lighting.

After the rooting season we intend to use the space to light our native grasses and forbs to ready them for sale.

These bulbs have allowed us to get into a lighting system without the expense of purchasing HID fixtures and then having to pay an arm and a leg to operate them, is just ridiculus.

The results so far look great and we're saving 75% or more on our power bill too. Thank you.
